The dog, Zili, who had accompanied Israel Police's Counter Terror Unit for nine years and was even credited for spotting and overpowering a Palestinian terrorist who had killed the Israeli 19-year-old Ori Ansbacher in 2019 during a search of a Ramallah home, was given a hero's funeral at the special canine cemetery the unit operates. Several fighters even shed a tear, with one saying, "He saved our lives."

Even Prime Minister Yair Lapid sent his thoughts over the death of Zili, saying "he was part of the unit, he was loved and was a professional." Lapid added that he "would be missed by those who trained him and those with whom he carried out operations with."

During the raid earlier this week, a senior Palestinian terrorist Ibrahim Nabulsi was killed after a long battle.
