A senior diplomatic official told Israel Hayom that ongoing efforts vis-à-vis Iran, including potential renewed strikes, remain completely independent of the timeline for forming a new government in Israel.
The official emphasized that military, intelligence, and diplomatic cooperation between the US and Israel remains tight across all levels. Any decision regarding subsequent steps will align strictly with mutual American and Israeli interests, the source noted, adding that if a strike on Iran is deemed necessary, planners will base the move solely on professional considerations.

Furthermore, the official noted that the outcome of the US midterm elections will not alter these strategic calculations. "The president has goals that have not changed, and he is determined to achieve them, primarily the complete neutralization of the Iranian military nuclear program and the removal of the military threat to Hormuz and to Iran's neighbors," the official said.
Washington has been reviewing the Israeli election results' meaning and gauging their impact on future diplomatic measures. As Israel Hayom previously revealed, the administration favors a broad coalition "without extremists," a message explicitly relayed to all relevant party leaders. As the Knesset makeup crystallizes near the end of the vote count, neither political bloc can independently secure a stable majority, keeping the prospect of a unity government firmly on the table.
This very possibility was evaluated during discussions between Jerusalem and Washington early Wednesday morning Israel time. Donald Trump has publicly framed his support for Benjamin Netanyahu as the decisive factor that prevented the prime minister's defeat, heavily implying that Netanyahu is now indebted to him. As Israel Hayom previously reported, Israel has assured American and international partners that the incoming coalition Netanyahu forms will not impede regional diplomatic progress.
