A 25-year-old Israeli resident of the eastern Benjamin region was lightly injured Sunday morning in an explosion that occurred along Road 60 between the settlements of Kochav HaShachar and Moledet.

According to initial reports, the man attempted to remove a Palestinian flag planted along the roadside when an explosive device detonated, causing shrapnel wounds to his hands.
The injured man was treated at the scene by medical personnel but refused evacuation to a hospital for further examination and treatment despite recommendations to do so.
Footage from the incident site showed the man kicking the Palestinian flag moments before the explosive detonated.
