Thai Police arrested an Israeli citizen on Monday on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 19-year-old tourist from Finland on Koh Samui island in southern Thailand.
According to reports in local news sites, the Finnish tourist was spending time with a group of tourists from Denmark and Israel when she was left alone on the beach with the suspect. The reports claim he attacked her and began touching various parts of her body despite her protests.
The young woman reportedly asked him repeatedly to stop his actions, but he ignored her requests. Following the incident, the victim informed her friends about what had happened, and they collectively decided to report the incident to local police authorities. Thai police subsequently arrested the suspect and released his photograph to the media. Israeli authorities have not yet released additional details about the investigation.
