US President Donald Trump announced that the US military would strike Iran "very hard" once again overnight. The announcement came after two nights of attacks, in which US Central Command focused on military targets such as radar facilities and military bases in southern Iran near the Strait of Hormuz.
"The United States will be hitting Iran (Whose Navy, Air Force, Radar, Anti Aircraft, and all other forms of Defense, together with most of its offensive capability, are GONE!), VERY HARD TONIGHT," Trump wrote.
Trump added: "At some point in the not too distant future, we will be taking Kharg Island, and other oil infrastructure points, and assume total control of their Oil and Gas Markets, much like we have with Venezuela, which is working out brilliantly for both Venezuela and the United States of America."
It should be noted that Qatari mediation efforts continued both yesterday, ahead of the overnight attack, and today. Three senior Iranian officials told Reuters that the two sides would continue negotiations in an effort to find a framework for a deal focused on the release of frozen Iranian assets.
