The Saudi newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat reported Wednesday, citing a source in the "Shiite duo" of Hezbollah and Amal, that the agreement between Tehran and Washington includes a halt to Israeli strikes and a guarantee of Lebanon's territorial integrity.

According to the source, the Iranian regime promised Hezbollah that after the initial agreement is signed on Friday, Israel will have to begin a gradual withdrawal from Lebanon and complete it before the nuclear agreement with Iran is signed. In other words, within the 60-day framework.

The source added that Tehran had promised not to sign the nuclear agreement with Washington unless the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon is completed. Jerusalem has yet to respond to the matter.

Meanwhile, it was reported that pressure was being exerted on Lebanon's president and prime minister to stop direct negotiations with Israel.

A Lebanese political source told the newspaper Nidaa Al-Watan that pressure was being brought to bear on Lebanese President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to withdraw from direct negotiations with Israel, given that the agreement between Iran and the US could lead to a ceasefire.

Despite this, the source said Aoun and Salam were sticking to continued direct negotiations, as both understand that "Lebanon has no other option for achieving full, comprehensive and lasting peace except through negotiations."
