US President Donald Trump condemned Iran on Wednesday morning, calling them "scum. They're sick people. They're led by sick people, and they're vicious, violent people," as the agreement with Iran appeared to be in danger of collapse.

Speaking at the opening of a NATO summit in Turkey, Trump called the Iranian regime "dirty players," referring to an Iranian attack on commercial vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, a blatant violation of the ceasefire.

"Tonight, we hit the very sick people in Iran hard," Trump said. "Something is wrong with them. We made it hard for them, 20 times harder than before. They are villains. I hate them, nobody likes them. They must not be allowed to obtain nuclear weapons. I think the ceasefire is over."

Trump said the US was wasting time in talks with Iran and expressed a desire to "do our own business" rather than try to conduct diplomacy.

"We need to get rid of their cancer" he said. "And you know what you do? You have to remove cancer early. And that's how I feel."

Turkey will get F-35 fighter jets

Trump also addressed relations with Turkey and Israel, saying, "I don't like the things Netanyahu said about Turkey and President Erdogan. Erdogan doesn't like Netanyahu, and Netanyahu doesn't like Erdogan. It's normal that they don't like Turkey because Turkey is a very great military power. And now they will also get the F-35 fighter jets."

The US president's latest remarks came after the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps announced that it had launched attacks on American military targets across Bahrain and Kuwait in response to the US strikes on Iran. In the morning hours, the Iranians again attacked Bahrain, with sirens and the sounds of explosions heard in the capital, Manama.

The Iranian Foreign Ministry again warned countries in the region not to allow the US to use their territory for attacks against Iran. At the same time, the ministry condemned what it called a "blatant violation" of the temporary agreement with Washington, claiming that violations of the arrangements in the Strait of Hormuz and the continued Israeli attacks in Lebanon had rendered the agreement ineffective.
