Additional US aerial refueling aircraft are on their way to Israel as part of US air operations in the region. Despite the increased military traffic, there is currently no indication that operations at Ben Gurion Airport will be affected.
The arrival of additional refueling aircraft is drawing attention, particularly amid heightened security tensions. However, according to information reviewed by Israel Hayom, the level of activity remains within established limits, meaning commercial flights are not currently expected to face delays as a result of the arrival of the US aircraft.
UN General Assembly underway
The development comes as the UN General Assembly's annual general begins in New York, bringing together leaders, prime ministers, presidents and foreign ministers from around the world.
For travelers, however, it is important to distinguish between increased military activity and its potential impact on commercial aviation. At this stage, the arrival of the aircraft is not expected to disrupt routine operations at Ben Gurion Airport, and commercial flights are expected to continue without delays caused by the US deployment.
As long as military activity remains within said established limits, there is currently no need for any further reduction in civilian aviation activity. That assessment could change, however, if the scale of air operations increases or the security situation develops further.
