According to The New York Times, the three issues the sides failed to resolve were reopening the Strait of Hormuz, unfreezing Iranian assets and transferring Iran's nuclear material. The regime in Tehran is demanding "war compensation" and refuses to reopen the strait to shipping until a final agreement is signed.
After a night packed with talks and reports, including a historic handshake between Vance and Ghalibaf, the vice president gave a brief statement. “I think that’s bad news for Iran much more than it's bad news for the United States of America,” Vance said. Pakistan: “Iran and the US must honor the ceasefire.”
