President Donald Trump declared Tuesday that he opposes regime change in Iran, citing fears that government overthrow would create regional chaos, according to Reuters reporting from a conversation with journalists aboard Air Force One as the president traveled to the NATO summit in The Hague.
Trump's comments marked a complete reversal from Monday's position, when the president posted on his social media platform, "t's not politically correct to use the term, 'Regime Change,' but if the current Iranian Regime is unable to MAKE IRAN GREAT AGAIN, why wouldn't there be a Regime change??? MIGA!!!"

On Tuesday, Trump adopted the opposite stance. Trump informed journalists that with the ceasefire now in place, China can return to purchasing Iranian crude oil, activities that violate US sanctions against Iran.
