The Prime Minister's Office disclosed Wednesday morning that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has accepted an invitation from US President Donald Trump to serve as a member of the Gaza Board of Peace – a nascent American initiative assembling leaders from nations across the globe.

Simultaneously, Azerbaijan announced its commitment to participate in the board, representing a significant expansion of international engagement in the initiative. The development marks further progress in establishing the forum and bolstering global backing for Trump's diplomatic venture.

The board has been designed to function as a diplomatic coordination mechanism among pivotal nations, with objectives centered on promoting international initiatives spanning security concerns, regional stability and diplomatic settlements.

Sources with direct knowledge of the planning confirmed to Israel Hayom that Trump and his team envision transforming the board into a potent and efficient international organization capable of managing international disputes in place of the UN. Dozens of heads of state have already committed to membership in this forum. Its designers are mapping out its role in tackling additional global challenges, including the war in Ukraine.
