Lebanese sources told Wednesday to Al-Diyar, a newspaper affiliated with Hezbollah, that the negotiating meeting between Israel and Lebanon lasted about two hours and ended without agreements, amid Israeli insistence on holding political talks alongside the continued fighting against the terrorist organization.
According to those sources, Israel has made clear that there is no connection between the diplomatic track and the military activity on the ground, and at this stage has not presented any concession or achievement for the Lebanese side. At the same time, it was reported that the Israeli delegation is expected to examine the Lebanese proposal and convey its position to the US mediators.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese side withdrew its demand for a full ceasefire and, at this stage, settled for calling for a temporary ceasefire. According to the same sources, the move was intended to advance a broader framework for the next stage, which would include drafting a road map for negotiations, determining the venue for the talks, work mechanisms and the composition of the delegations. At the same time, it was emphasized that the position in Lebanon rejects holding negotiations under fire, as well as a peace agreement at the current stage.
At the same time, Wafiq Safa, a senior member of Hezbollah's political council, declared that the organization would not honor any agreement formulated during the talks. Meanwhile, the Amal Movement, a Lebanese Shiite militia, made clear that it opposes direct negotiations with Israel and supports continuing the work of the ceasefire monitoring mechanism.
