The Wall Street Journal published on Thursday a partial list of US demands from Iran as part of the deal agreement to end the war. The demands do not include Iran's ballistic missile program or its support for proxy terrorist organizations in the Middle East.
According to the report, the US says it needs Iran to confirm that it is not seeking nuclear weapons; dismantle the Fordo, Natanz and Isfahan facilities; ban underground nuclear work; and accept inspections on demand, with penalties for violations. The US is seeking a 20-year freeze on nuclear enrichment in Iran and is demanding the full handover of all enriched nuclear material.

The report further said that, according to the document, Iran would have to reopen Hormuz gradually, as the US eases the blockade, and then fully under the final agreement. Most US sanctions relief would be tied to Iran's implementation of the agreement, not merely to its signing, although some assets could be unfrozen at the outset.
The American news network CNN reported that Iran was expected to respond today to the US proposal to end the war and move closer to an agreement based on a brief memorandum. On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump said the US had held "very good talks" with Iran over the previous 24 hours.

The US president's decision to suspend "Project Freedom," under which American ships were supposed to escort tankers through the Strait of Hormuz, stemmed from a Saudi demand, NBC reported. Two US sources who spoke with the network said Saudi Arabia had suspended the approval for the US military to use bases on its territory and its airspace.
