The University of North Carolina is disputing the Trump administration's accusations of bias in a Middle East studies program that the school operates with Duke University. Terry Magnuson, UNC's vice chancellor for research, contests Trump administration's claim that certain cultural programs, including one on Iranian art and film, should not be supported with taxpayer money.

Iranian foreign minister responds by saying: "If Iran were behind this attack, nothing would have been left of this refinery." UK, France, Germany say in joint statement that "the time has come for Iran to accept negotiation on a long-term framework for its nuclear program as well as on issues related to regional security, including its missiles program and other means of delivery."

Addressing UN Human Rights Council in Geneva, Leah Goldin calls on member-states to change their policies on Gaza and act toward the return of captured Israeli soldiers and civilians being held in the terrorist enclave. "For five years, Hamas has cruelly tormented our family," she says.

President tells Likud, Blue and White leaders: "People expect you to find a solution and to prevent further elections, even if it comes at a personal and even ideological cost. This is not the time to exclude people."

Trump administration officials familiar with American-Israeli relations say the political stalemate in Israel is leading to a significant missed opportunity from Israel's perspective. The officials further intimate that Israeli leaders need to take into account the unique opportunity provided by the Trump presidency, but refrain from saying so explicitly.
