France has clarified that potential recognition of a Palestinian state will not be part of the final declaration at an upcoming international conference set to convene in New York in about two weeks. A senior French diplomat explained that the summit is actually intended to assist Israel, and added that its vision includes a demand for the release of hostages and an explicit call for Hamas to be disarmed.
